TURKEY'S SMALLEST SHOWCASE
MINIATURK

Turkey is filled with wonderful sights, but it is hard to find the time to visit them all. Plus, this is such a huge country that many historic structures are thousands of miles away. Wouldn't it be wonderful if somehow you could see all these sights in one place? Believe it or not, this is possible, albeit on a smaller scale... All you have to do is visit Miniaturk.

Miniaturk was established by Kültür A.Ş., the company responsible for cleaning and greening the shores of the Golden Horn. The result is essentially a tiny city filled with Turkey's most famous structures. Covering some 60,000 square meters, Miniaturk opened in January 2003 and is filled with the finest examples of Turkish architecture, from that of the Anatolian Civilizations to Ottoman and modern times.

The road to Miniaturk takes you along the picturesque shores of the Golden Horn. If you're worried about finding a parking spot, don't- Miniaturk has a huge parking lot and you'll have no trouble finding a space.

After parking your car, you're ready to set off for a unique journey across the country! The models are separated into three sections: Istanbul, Anatolia and Ottoman. The Celsus Library of Ephesus, the Stone Houses of Mardin, the Temple of Artemis, the houses of Safranbolu, the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and Topkapı Palace are just a few examples. The models are amazing reproductions of the originals. Like Alice in your own mini wonderland, you can walk across the Malabadi Bridge, run between the columns of temples, and wave hello to fellow travelers through the windows of beautiful houses. It is truly remarkable just how realistic the models are.

In addition to buildings that are still standing, Miniaturk also boasts a number of models of ancient buildings such as the Mausoleum at Halikarnassus and the Temple of Artemis, as well as ruins like İshak Pasha Palace and the Konya Alaeddin Mosque. In addition, there are models of modern Istanbul landmarks such as the Bosphorus Bridge, the Atatürk Olympic Stadium and Atatürk Airport.

In the winter season, Miniaturk is open daily from 09.00-17.00. This is a great place to learn more about Turkey, Turkish culture, and Turkish history. On a bright winter's day, treat yourself to a voyage around Turkey without ever leaving the shores of the Golden Horn.
